2027 Collie Club of America National Specialty

Each state and region have unique and wonderful features. Each Collie Club has a personality of its own. It is fun to show these off! Consider offering a basket for the privilege of having bragging rights. We ask that nothing be perishable and that you provide a list of the contents for prospective bidders.

Suggestions for states, clubs, or districts donating a basket:

• Please create a worthy basket that “anyone” would want to bid on. Add specific items pertinent to your state, avoiding excessive team sport items. You can have a theme or just a combination of desired items that anyone would love to have. The more items, the better.
• We ask that nothing be perishable.
• Please provide with your basket a detailed a list of its contents for prospective bidders.
• This is not one person’s responsibility to donate a basket. District Directors – please reach out to your membership to help support this effort.
• Please provide the name, state, and contact information of the person responsible for collecting and bringing the basket to the 2026 CCA National to the Committee Chairs (TBD).

Scooters can be picked up at the Expo Square show site starting on Monday, March 30 after 2:00 pm.
Scooters must be returned to the show site no later than Sunday at 10:00 am.

Cost is for the week at Expo Square (6 days). Total price is $188.51 including tax & fees.
Reservation deadline is Tuesday, March 24.

Video Policy and Release

The professional video services and live streaming at this show are governed by an exclusive video contract with the Club. No other commercial video recording, video recording from a tripod, monopod or other supported camera/device, or any video recording or streaming of large parts or whole classes shall be permitted. The contract terms permit individuals to record small bits of video of their own dogs only, and using handheld devices only (e.g. phone, tablet or small camcorder). Individuals may post recorded videos of their own dogs to social media (Facebook, YouTube, etc). However, during show hours LIVE Broadcast Streaming to social media (e.g., Facebook Live) is not permitted.

Submission of an entry form and/or physical presence on the show grounds shall constitute both implied and real consent for both the handler and the dog to be professionally video recorded and streamed live only by the professional video services as contracted by the Club for this show.

Video Rights and Broadcast Policy

All rights to video record and live stream or otherwise exploit this event and/or the persons or animals participating in it, including the names, likenesses and biographical matter of dogs, owners, handlers, breeders, and kennels participating in the event shall belong solely to the show giving Club and/or the American Kennel Club, Inc. No spectator, participant, owner, handler, breeder, or kennel shall make commercial use of any video recordings of any person or animal participating in this event without prior written approval from the Club. This event may not be broadcast to social media (e.g. Facebook Live, etc) without prior written approval from the Club.

Friday, April 3
Junior Handling Clinic for ALL Ages

Takes place 30 minutes after the completion of judging in the ring. Juniors will need their dog and some bait. If a junior is in need of a dog, we will be glad to help find a dog for you to work with.

Children under 5 will be provided the opportunity to participate in the handling clinic on Friday evening prior to the start of the official handling clinic.

Saturday, April 4
Junior Showmanship Competition and Pee Wee Attraction PLUS Annual Group Photo

Juniors will compete in the ring per the judging program, followed by The Collie Junior Foundation scholarship presentation and the Pee Wee event.

Pee Wee entries will taken at the show, with a limit of 10 Pee Wee handlers. Entry cost is $5.00. Each dog and child team will require an adult supervisor to be present in the ring. Rules for Pee Wee are below. More information is available on the AKC Pee Wee Special Attraction page.

Pee Wee Special Attraction

The Pee Wee Special Attraction is a pre-Junior Showmanship class. The Pee Wee class is geared toward children 5–9 years of age. Children younger than five or older than eight cannot participate in the Pee Wee Class Special Attraction. Each Pee Wee unit consists of the child, his/her parent/guardian/responsible adult, and the dog. Only one Pee Wee unit is in the ring at a time. This is not a competitive class, but rather a fun, learning experience for the child and the adult. The entry form and a release must be signed by the child’s parent, legal guardian, or a responsible adult.

• The dog must be at least six months of age.
• Bitches in season will not be allowed to participate.
• All dogs entered must have the proper lead and collar.
• A responsible adult must be present with the child both inside and outside the ring. The adult is to maintain control of the dog outside of the ring.
• The dog must be a Collie.

The safety of both the dogs and Juniors inside and outside the ring is a primary concern. Outside of the ring, the dog is to be controlled by the adult accompanying the child. At the Judge’s discretion based upon the size of the child and the dog, for safety purposes the adult may be asked to attach a second lead to the dog so both child and adult will walk the dog together.

Group Photo

Upon the completion of both events, all juniors will receive the opportunity to take a picture with their dog with the photographer. Once all individual junior photos are completed, it is requested that juniors of ALL ages return to the photographer’s stand without their dogs to do a group photo.

Collie Health Foundation 2026 Health Clinics

CAER Eye checks 

Eye checks by licensed ophthalmologist Dr. Katie Diehl DVM DAVCO will take place onsite on:
Wednesday and Thursday – 10:00-4:00 and Friday – 10:00-12:00.

Please note that free CAER eye checks are only available to dogs participating in the Coloboma study. For all other dogs, the cost of the CAER eye check will be $55. 

Blood draws 

Researchers will be collecting samples for Dr. Murgiano’s Coloboma study, Dr. Clark’s Epilepsy study, and the Martha E. Hoffman CHIC DNA banking project.

• Coloboma study: dogs with choroidal hypoplasia, and dogs with choroidal hypoplasia and colobomas or detachments.
• Epilepsy study: affected dogs, and unaffected dogs over 8 years old with no epileptic relatives.

Blood draws by Dr. Leigh Anne Clark and her team will take place onsite on:
Wednesday and Thursday – 10:00-4:00 and Friday – 10:00-12:00.

Pre-Registration Form

The Collie Health Foundation has created a pre-registration form for the health clinics offered at the 2026 CCA National. The information you provide will be transferred to the official OFA or research study forms. Your completed forms will be waiting for you at the National Specialty.

Dogs registered through this form will receive priority for all CHF health clinics, including eye exams.

Pre-registration will close on March 11, 2026, at the same time as show entries close.

Handicapped Seating Area

The Handicapped open area will be designated for individuals with special needs as an area to enjoy the National Specialty Show. This area is for wheelchair and scooter parking ONLY. The Handicapped area is not for standing room, grooming, or for individuals to set up their own seating. This area will be heavily monitored.

Reserved Grooming Information

Grooming space reservations will be accepted February 18 – March 13 on this website under Shop > Grooming & Seating Reservations.

ALL reservations received ANY TIME on February 18 will be given first and equal priority.
Reservations received before February 18 will NOT be accepted.
Reservations received February 19 and later will be processed first-come first-served per day received.

Those who wish to groom together must submit their reservations together.

• The price per space is $45.00 for an 8′ X 10′ space. Each space includes 1 gallon of water.
• Electricity is available but must be indicated when making reservation.
• Shavings and additional water will be available for purchase by pre-order only from this website February 18 – March 13.
• Ex-Pen rentals will also be available February 18 – March 13.

The Event Committee reserves the right to modify grooming space size and limit the number of grooming space per person, if required.

Please note:

• Grooming areas must be kept clean.
• All ex-pens must have plastic underneath and up the sides at least 12 inches.
• Gaffers tape must be used to secure anything to the floor. No duct tape.
• Anyone using electricity in grooming space is responsible for bringing their own grounded UL listed extension cords and the means to secure them. All power in space must be turned off before leaving each day.
• Refer to the premium list for additional exhibitor & attendee information.
• All doors will be locked at 11:00 PM each night. For dogs left in the building, all crates must be marked with responsible parties’ contact info. Crate tags will be available from Reserved Grooming Chairs.

Dog bathing facilities will be available in the parking lot outside the north side of the SageNet building. No bathing is allowed in the SageNet building or any other location.

• Food will be available for purchase daily from the concession stand in SageNet Center.
• There is NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGE allowed in the SageNet Center. If you have a medical reason to bring your own food, you must be able to provide a physician’s letter stating so.
• Security will be provided in the overnight. For dogs left in the building, all crates must be marked with the responsible party’s contact info.
• The Collie Club of America reminds all exhibitors that they are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs both inside and outside.
• You have a responsibility to conduct yourself in a manner that presents the sport of dogs and the Collie breed in the very best light. Each and every time you appear in public with your dogs you have the opportunity to make a positive and lasting impression.
• Smoking is prohibited in all Expo Square facilities.
• The SageNet Center building must be vacated by 10:00 am on Sunday, April 5.
