New Member Sponsors Form
Sponsorship of Applicant(s). The Board requests that both the applicant (s) and the sponsors take sponsorship seriously. Sponsors should review the following criteria before agreeing to sponsor an applicant. It is recommended that CCA members NOT sponsor applicants whom they do not know personally or only have a superficial relationship (for example, people known only through social media, email, or written correspondence):
A. New applicants must be sponsored by two (2) current non-related CCA members in good standing for a minimum of two (2) years. For clarity regarding “non-related” – The 2 sponsors cannot be related to the applicant OR to each other.
B. Sponsors must have known applicant(s) for a minimum of 6 months – longer is better.
C. At least one sponsor must be a resident of the State or CCA District in which the applicant(s) resides.
D. Sponsors should review the complete application before writing their letter of recommendation to make sure that all questions are answered properly.
E. Sponsors’ letter of endorsement should address at a minimum the following points and add additional pertinent information to give the Board of Directors an introduction to the applicant(s):
a. What reasons do you have for endorsing this applicant(s)?
b. What is your knowledge of the applicant’s(s) interest in the Collie breed?
c. How long have you known the applicant(s)?
d. Describe the circumstances of how you know
the applicant(s)?
e. What makes you feel this applicant(s) will be an asset to the CCA?
Note: If an applicant does not know two sponsors, he/she may ask the Board to act as one.
